People of the Jersey Shore, we are currently facing a major problem on our beaches. Unfortunately, the State of NJ has come to the shore to ruin our summer. There have been birds nesting on our beaches, and because of this, the state has brought in their activists, and gated off parts of our beaches. We must find a way to co-exist. These gated areas can encompass incredibly large portions of beach!
These endangered birds are taking our beaches hostage. Leaving local government, police, and medical in the dust. Local works trucks are NOT allowed to clean debris on the stretch of beach , from Takanassee lake, south to the deal border Any use of a vehicle on the beach is considered a crime by state law, and they are investigating any violators.
What does this mean for me?
1. Since any vehicle is not allowed on the beach, we are left with unraked beaches, with large amounts of dangerous debris strewn across the vast majority of the beach.
2. Since any vehicle is not allowed on the beach, any EMT or first responder cannot use an emergency vehicle to get to the emergency - decreasing response times.
3. Since any vehicle is not allowed on the beach, Our lifeguards cannot be easily picked up from their shifts, and their equipment needs to be carried by hand.
What can I do to help?
Unfortunately there is not much anything any of us can do on our own. But together, we CAN make a difference. Please help by showing your support with the below form
